Powerball Overview
In July 2026, it was announced that the National Lottery would be offering Powerball in the UK for the first time. This would be the first time that this lottery game based in Florida would be available outside or the United States.
Tickets for the UK Powerball first went on sale for the draw on 21 July 2025, letting players choose a set of numbers for the chance to win a range of prizes, including the jackpot. Players pick their main numbers and an additional Powerball number, with prizes awarded for matching different combinations.
To enter, players pay £4 and select their chosen 5 numbers from 1 to 69, plus 1 Powerball number from 1 to 26. Alternatively, players can opt for a Lucky Dip. The aim is to match as many numbers as possible in the draw, with the largest prize awarded to those who match all the required numbers.
Despite the lower prize tiers being different from the American equivalents, the game uses the same numbers drawn from Tallahassee, Florida. All lower prizes, except for the Match 2 and Match 5 tiers will be estimated amounts, depending on the total of players in a draw and currency exchange rate.
Although this lottery grants the potential to make a player a billionaire, winners of the UK Powerball Jackpot will also not win a lump sum. Instead, they will receive payments over the course of 30 years like games such as Set For Life. The odds to win overall is 1 in 14, while the odds to win the jackpot are 292,000,000 to 1.
